The Preservation Librarian is responsible for organizing and maintaining a preservation assessment program, establishing goals and objectives to develop a conservation lab, conservation of damaged materials, advising on climate control as needed, advising on preservation issues including disaster preparedness, and conducting preservation awareness programs for staff and users. The Preservation Librarian works closely with Tulane's main library collection, offfsite storage collection, and special collections.
