Responsibilites
The Coordinator for Scholarly Resources for the Humanities supports Tulane faculty and students in the humanities. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Libraries, the librarian in this position coordinates humanities collection development activities related to the general collections and selects materials for the library’s Rare Books area; provides and promotes humanities-related workshops and other instructional support; meets with students, faculty, and researchers individually or in groups to provide timely, relevant sources of information; evaluates information needs; and plans, implements, and assesses initiatives that support humanities faculty and students across campus. The Coordinator collaborates with counterparts in the social sciences and science & engineering to ensure a consistent approach to collection management. The Coordinator and her colleagues use a team approach to help the Library meet the challenges of collecting, managing, preserving, and providing access to scholarly resources in an era of fast-evolving information needs and publishing models. The coordinators for Scholarly Resources individually develop expertise in emerging technologies and lead and/or participate in innovative library projects.
