Reference & Information
The Reference & Information Desk is the starting point for most researchers at the library whether their inquiry leads to the general collections, special collections, networked digital resources, or an authoritative internet site in the public domain.
The Reference & Information Desk is managed by the library's Reference Services Department, which is responsible for the library's reference and outreach services. Overseen by the Head of Reference Services, the department includes four other reference librarians and three paraprofessional staff. In addition to their work at the Help Desk, the reference librarians develop outreach activities that provide research assistance and promote library resources to students and faculty outside the library building. At the Reference & Information Desk, they are assisted by librarians drawn in from other departments in the Services Division.
