Our Mission
To apply our knowledge and expertise to the cost effective development, implementation, support, and improvement of the Library's information technology infrastructure to meet the present and future requirements of the Library and University communities.
Responsibilities
The Library Systems Department assists the libraries in exploring and implementing new technologies. Systems is responsible for the computer systems and networks of the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library, Jones Hall, and Architecture Library including:
- All public and staff workstations
- Pharos printing network
- Eres Electronic reserves server
- Cataloger's Desktop server
- Ariel server and ILLiad client maintenance
- Shared drives and backup systems
- Public scanning workstation
- ZoomText workstation
Management of TULANet Voyager, the integrated library system
- Acquisitions, Cataloging, Circulation & Reserves, Reporter, and System Administration
- Implementation of new releases and patches
Library Computing
- Selection, acquisition, installation, and maintenance of desktop computers, peripherals, and software
- Management information from Voyager
