Music & Media Center
Located on the 4th floor of Howard-Tilton Memorial Library, the Music & Media Center is the primary service point for music reference, sound recordings, and video recordings.
Patrons can access thousands of CDs covering a broad range of classical, traditional, jazz, rock, and hip-hop music as well as thousands of DVD documentaries, feature films, and popular television shows. For information about using the DVD collection in classes, see the Media Copyright Guide.
To borrow CDs and DVDs, first locate the call number in the online catalog, then provide this number to a staff member. Staff can also assist you in locating items in the online catalog. Patrons may borrow CDs and DVDs for the loan periods indicated on the Borrowing Media page.
Patrons may use one of four computers and six viewing stations located outside the Music & Media Center to listen to or view items.
Patrons may also borrow headphones from the Music & Media Center for use in the library. Headphones must be returned to the Music & Media Center before closing. Overdue fines for headphones accrue at $1 per day.
Reference books and services for music studies are also located in the Music & Media Center. Non-reference music books and scores are located in the general stacks on the 3rd floor. Additional resources for music studies may be found in the Music Research Guide.
