This is an exhibition on the African Americans that served in the Civil War as surgeons and nurses along with a local Tulane exhibition that looks at the “expectations and activism” of the New Orleans' black population through the lens of Civil War era newspapers. It is a traveling exhibition from the National Library of Medicine accompanied by some of the historic treasures to mark the Tricentennial of New Orleans from the Tulane Libraries' Special Collections.
