Description

The League of Women Voters has its roots in the struggle for women's suffrage of the early part of th 20th century. The LWV was founded in Chicago in 1920 to unite the many women's suffrage groups across the nation. The New Orleans chapter of the LWV was founded in 1942 and has been a valuable resource for political engagement and non-partisan reform. This image depicts several members of the LWV of New Orleans participating in a parade on Canal Street.
