Abstract


The Franciscan Central Belt is a Late Mesozoic terrane composed of dislocated submarine fan deposits, splinters of oceanic crustic and blocks of "exotic" lithologies (e.g. glauciphane schist) of incertain origin, which are all texronically mixed in a muddy melange matrix.
