Predatory Publishing Workshop

When:
Tuesday, November 28, 2017 - 1:00pm to 2:00pm
Where:
308 Media Presentation Room - Howard-Tilton
Description:
Have you ever received an email inviting you to publish in a scholarly journal? Have you been unsure of the quality of the Journal – perhaps they are a new start-up, not yet known, or the launch of something big?

As the number of journals available have increased, it has become harder and harder to identify the trustworthy journals from predatory journals.

Predatory journals may disseminate plagiarized materials or material lacking in any type of quality control  or other servces normally provides by reputable journals all while charging the author a substantial fee.

In this workshop we will discuss how you can identity possible predatory journals and publishers. Everyone is also encouraged to share their own experiences as well.
