Association of Research Libraries (ARL)
The ARL includes 121 member institutions representing the major research libraries in the United States and Canada. Tulane's Howard-Tilton Memorial Library is an ARL member.
Center for Research Libraries (CRL)
The CRL is a consortium of libraries collecting scholarly research materials. Its collections are located in Chicago. Tulane's Howard-Tilton Memorial Library is a CRL member. Access to CRL items is available to Tulane affiliates through interlibrary loan.
Library of Congress
Besides some 19,000,000 books, the Library of Congress contains graphic materials, microfilms, recordings, and motion pictures and adds some 1,000,000 pieces to its collections each year.
National Library of Medicine (NLM)
The NLM is the world's largest medical library and collects materials in biomedicine and health care, as well as works on biomedical aspects of technology, the humanities, and the physical, life, and social sciences.
