New York Times Online for the Tulane Community

Howard-Tilton Memorial Library is pleased to announce that it has purchased for the Tulane community online and mobile access to The New York Times Online, in a one-year trial arrangement. The arrangement, called Academic Pass, effectively provides each Tulane student, faculty and staff member a one-year online subscription to the site. It gives students, faculty and staff full access to and NYTimes mobile apps, as well as their international editions. This service is not available to Tulane alumni.

Users will get a variety of NYT content including breaking news articles, archived articles, blogs, video, and interactive features.  In addition, users can discover and share NYT content on social networks, save articles, subscribe to email newsletters of areas of interest and receive news alerts, either on predefined topics or through a keyword search the user designates.  For more information see this .pdf overview.

Academic Pass also includes the latest iPhone® NYTimes app, NYT Now, with top stories selected by editors, and What We’re Reading, a new weekly guide to recommended reading on the web.
To access the Academic Pass to, each user must follow these steps:

  2. Create a free account using your Tulane email ( address.  If you already have an account using your Tulane email address, you may log in with those credentials.
  3. You have successfully claimed a Pass when you see the Start Your Access screen
  4. Now you can enjoy seamless full access to, and NYT mobile apps just by logging into your account from any location, on or off campus.
