The Director of Matas Library of the Health Sciences oversees the operations of the library serving the Tulane University School of Medicine, the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and the Tulane National Primate Research Center with innovation, imagination, and inclusivity. The incumbent consults regularly with health sciences leadership, faculty, researchers, and students about services to further the research, teaching, and patient care missions of the health sciences programs and to ensure that Matas services align with current needs and emerging priorities. The Director works in consultation with the Libraries’ Associate Dean for Collections and Director of Scholarly Engagement to support cross-disciplinary initiatives and services. With the Dean of Libraries and Academic Information Resources, the Director develops the Matas Library budget. This position reports to the Dean of Libraries and is a member of the Libraries’ senior leadership team.
