2022 Student Poetry Competition
Tulane University Libraries is pleased to announce the 2022 Student Poetry Competition!
Poems received by noon, February 25, will be entered into a double-blind review by select members of the Tulane University Libraries personnel. Reviewers include librarians and staff who are authors, researchers, cultural critics, and, above all, lovers of poetry. Through the review process, a first and second place poem will be selected.
The first and second place poets will receive $100 and $50 gift cards respectively to Baldwin & Co., an independent Black-owned bookstore located in the heart of New Orleans with online and brick and mortar shopping experiences.
The two winners will be notified in early March and will be put in touch with members of the Library who will help them record readings of their winning poems. The winning poets will be publicly announced at the March Lunch Tray Series poetry reading event on March 11 with the recordings shared via Tulane University Libraries’ YouTube channel and social media.
To participate, submit your poem to LunchTraySeries@tulane.edu no later than noon CST on Friday, February 25.
