Open for research: Clyde Barbour photographs of Preservation Hall and New Orleans, and Yuki Ito photographs of Mardi Gras Indians

Tulane University Special Collections (TUSC) is pleased to announce the processing and finding aid publication of the following collections of the Hogan Archive of New Orleans Music and New Orleans Jazz:

Clyde Barbour photographs of Preservation Hall and New Orleans (HJA-111)
This collection contains photographic prints, contact sheets, and negatives taken between 1963 and 1965. Images document music performances at Preservation Hall, Avery "Kid" Howard's jazz funeral, Mardi Gras celebrations, and various locations in and around New Orleans.

Yuki Ito photographs of Mardi Gras Indians (HJA-103)
This collection contains color photographs of Mardi Gras Indians and Black Masking Indians, taken by Yuki Ito in New Orleans on Mardi Gras day in 2003 and on Super Sunday in 2004.
