A New and Expanded LAL Seminar Room
Anyone who has stopped by the LAL recently will have noticed the renovated and greatly expanded seminar room. Thanks to a generous gift from the late Dr. Charles E. Stokes, Jr. and funding from the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library, we were able to double the size of the room, used for an average of 25 classroom instruction sessions per semester, including many sessions that incorporate the LAL special collections. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the new room has certainly added some visual pop to the LAL public areas. More important, the upgrade to the space addresses a growing and critical need for larger classroom space to accommodate increased demand for library instruction sessions, even as classes have become larger. We are glad this new and improved teaching space finally has become a reality!
