Hogan Archive Renamed to Reflect Expanded Collecting Scope

Tulane University Special Collections (TUSC) recently announced an expanded collection development strategy and renaming of the Hogan Archive of New Orleans Music and New Orleans Jazz.  

Previously known as the Hogan Jazz Archive, the rebranded Hogan Archive of New Orleans Music and New Orleans Jazz highlights New Orleans history, culture, and life through archival collections and primary sources. Its materials represent the stories and study of musical genres that emanate from and are inspired by New Orleans, including the origins and contemporary legacy of Black American music, jazz, gospel, blues, rhythm and blues, and more genres, which provide the foundation for popular music culture in the U.S.

The Hogan Archive enthusiastically welcomes inquiries and collections about 20th century contemporary jazz, rhythm and blues, funk, hip hop, and rock artists, promoters, venues, and related topics from the 20th century forward, while remaining a leading and internationally renowned source of research on original and traditional New Orleans jazz starting in the late 19th century.
