Frankenstein Film Night with Rare Books

Sweet treats, monstrous books, and, of course, Frankenstein! Join Tulane University Libraries and Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life for this one-of-a-kind event. Come early at 5:30 to explore monstrous mysteries from the Rare Book Collections, then settle in for sweet treats and popcorn and a screening of movie that defined a genre: James Whale's 1931 Frankenstein.

This Halloween, please join Newcomb Archives for a Victorian Mourning-themed event featuring an immersive afternoon of reflection, creativity, and mysticism.
In honor of Josephine Louise Newcomb’s birthday, Newcomb Archive’s entire collection of tarot and oracle decks are on view on October 31 for all to enjoy. Then, at 12 pm, join Fridays at Newcomb in Diboll Gallery for Dr. Krystal Cleary presents: “Some Decks May Be Stacked Against Us, but This Deck Is Ours': Justice-Centered Tarot in and Against the New Age” from a chapter in the newly published book, The Witch Studies Reader.
Don’t miss out on our hauntingly tragic display of reflections of the abject, refreshments, a D.I.Y. oracle card crafting space, and a Tarot show and tell. Victorian mourning costumes are highly encouraged!
