Washington Post Web Access

Washington Post logoThe library has acquired an online subscription to The Washington Post, a daily newspaper, published in Washington, D.C., and considered to be among the most influential American newspapers alongside The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

The new subscription provides Tulane students, faculty, and staff with access to the browsable web version of the newspaper when connected to Tulane’s campus network using this URL link on-campus: https://www.washingtonpost.com/regional. The subscription is web-only and access with device apps similar to Tulane’s academic subscriptions to The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal was unavailable.  Please note that this subscription does not work with Firefox web browsers.

Off-campus Access
For access off-campus or outside of the campus network users will need to use this URL link:

The prefix in the link will prompt a login window through which users, entering their Tulane ID (email address) and password, will be directed to The Washington Post site by proxy through the Tulane network.

We recommend that remote users bookmark the link within their browsers, including browser apps on smart phones and tablets.  This will keep handy the proxied URL for remote access and off-campus users occasionally may need to reconnect to the subscription while browsing.

The proxied link to The Washington Post online will be available in the library catalog and E-Journals list.  For more information about this and other ways to get access to content from The Washington Post see https://libguides.tulane.edu/news_newspapers/washingtonpost
