Access and Accessibility

The Latin American Library is accessible via:

  • elevators located on the 1st floor of Howard-Tilton Memorial Library 
  • stairs

When you reach the 4th floor, you'll see a wing labeled The Latin American Library.

To find LAL offices and special collections reading room, turn right upon entering the gallery/study/stacks area and continue all the way to the LAL Seminar Room. LAL offices are just next to the Seminar Room.

Office Hours

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm

Closed on Saturday and Sunday

Due to a special event on Friday, September 27, please note the following changes to the Latin American Library’s regular schedule:

  • LAL special collections reading room and seminar room are closed all day, and the study tables outside the seminar room will be unavailable;
  • LAL office services, including Closed Stacks retrievals, are closed all day;
  • LAL Open Stacks and graduate and faculty carrels remain open as usual

LAL offices will resume normal hours of operation on Monday beginning 8.
