How to locate LAL print materials
Latin American Library (LAL) print items are discoverable in TU Library Search.
You will find call numbers with different locations, such as:
- Latin American Library
- Offsite Depository (LAL)
- Latin American Library (In Process)
- Latin American Library (Closed Stacks)
- Latin American Library (Rare Books)

Offsite requests
Print books and journals located in the Offsite Depository can be requested by both Tulane affiliates and visiting researchers.
- Tulane affiliates can order items directly from the record in Library Search. Click here for instructions.
- Researchers without a Tulane login must use the Offsite Request Form.
All LAL materials from the Offsite Depository will be delivered to the circulation desk on the 1st floor of Howard-Tilton Memorial Library.
In-process requests
Books with an "In Process" location have been received by the library but not yet cataloged.
- Tulane affiliates can request "In Process" items directly from the record in Library Search. Click here for instructions.
- Researchers without a Tulane login: contact LAL@tulane.edu for assistance.
All "In Process" requests will be delivered to the circulation desk on the 1st floor of Howard-Tilton Memorial Library.
