Groove @ The Library: A Celebration of Vinyl Records and Popular Music History
Join us for Groove @ The Library on Monday, September 15—a full day celebrating vinyl, album art, and popular music history. Highlights include LP listening (10am–4pm), a hands-on album art design with Adobe Express (12pm–1pm), and archival exploration of hip hop posters (4pm–5pm), alongside two exhibits and a special book display.

Drop in to room 602 to dig through the crates and listen to albums on one of the LP players. Participants in the Album Cover Design Competition can find inspiration from the many albums available for browsing today only.

Express Yourself: Album Art for Your Story

Create your own album cover art with Adobe Express. Although the theme will be album cover art, the graphic design tools in Adobe Express are for everyone. This workshop will teach you how to use tools that even non-experts can use to make professional-looking designs for your business or for fun. Participants in the Album Cover Art Design Competition will definitely want to attend!

In the Archives: Posters and New Orleans Hip Hop History

This hands-on workshop provides an introduction to archives and a lesson on hidden histories about New Orleans hip hop. Led by Melissa A. Weber, curator of the Hogan Archive of New Orleans Music and New Orleans Jazz at Tulane University Special Collections.
