The Associate Dean for Health Sciences serves as the chief advisor to the Dean on health sciences matters and leads Tulane University Libraries’ health services. The Associate Dean oversees health research services, integrating these into the University's priorities. This role includes a senior liaison function with the Medical School, Medical Center, and the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment with the Tulane University Libraries' strategic goals.  

The Associate Dean fosters collaboration, innovation, and a positive work environment, positioning the Health Sciences Library as a premier research and learning destination and anchoring Tulane University Libraries’ downtown efforts. In this senior leadership role, the Associate Dean works closely with the Dean’s Cabinet to connect all efforts to the University’s priorities, service needs, the Libraries’ Kaleidoscope Vision.  

The Associate Dean for Health Sciences establishes and implement strategies to advance and support research and learning in the health sciences collection through future-focused investment strategies, advancing and evolving services in conjunction with creative budget management. The Associate Dean is responsible for implementing health sciences collection and space efforts aligned with the University’s priorities.   

With a portfolio including Health Research Services and the Health Sciences Library, the Associate Dean maintains broad working relationships within the Libraries and with key campus contacts, particularly within the health sciences disciplines and the Primate Center.
