New Archival Collections, Digitized Collections, and Monographs : A Message from the Director
Published
I am pleased to share our newly launched summer edition of the Tulane University Special Collections newsletter. This issue highlights several archival collections, digitized collections, and monographs that are newly available for our community to use. These materials reflect our shared cultural history, from New Orleans jazz and Mardi Gras Indians to LGBTQ+ history, public health, and feminist activism. These important resources are open for access thanks to the hard work and expertise of TUSC archivists and librarians, and we can’t wait for you to use them!
Acquisition of new collections and materials is only the first step in preservation and stewardship. Archivists and librarians apply their training and skills to organize and describe these resources so that anyone can use them for their research, teaching, or simply to satisfy a desire to know more about the human experience. This labor is central to advancing our mission: providing the broadest possible access to the collections under our stewardship. We are grateful to supporters like you whose generous donations make this work possible.
We welcome knowledge seekers of all kinds to explore these newly available resources. TUSC archivists and librarians are here to answer your questions and support your research and teaching. You can make an appointment via our website at https://library.tulane.edu/tusc, email us at specialcollections@tulane.edu, and follow us on Facebook at facebook.com/TUSpecialCollections and on Instagram @tuspeccoll.
