Melissa A. Weber, curator of the Hogan Archive of New Orleans Music and New Orleans Jazz at Tulane University Special Collections, recently contributed to RAMPART: A Legacy Planning & Readiness Guide for Musicians, a new publication from the New Orleans nonprofit The Ella Project. The guide offers practical advice to help musicians and their families protect creative legacies, intellectual property, and personal archives.

In her interview, Weber discusses how musicians can work with archives and special collections repositories to preserve their materials and ensure long-term access to their histories.

The Ella Project provides pro bono legal services, business advice, and mentorship to New Orleans musicians, artists, and cultural workers.
