Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening reception of Cut from a Different Cloth: Fashion Selections from Tulane Special Collections! Guests enjoyed tea, lemonade, pink cookies, and an amazing retro soundtrack as we celebrated the launch of this vibrant new exhibition, curated by Faye Daigle and Kevin Williams.

The reception offered a first look at rare and remarkable pieces, from Canal Street department store ephemera and Carnival costumes to campus cheer uniforms and even a jacket worn by Louis Prima. Together, these objects highlight the many ways New Orleanians have expressed identity, creativity, and community through fashion.

If you missed the opening, don’t worry, the exhibition is on view through May 29, 2026, in the Tulane University Special Collections 2nd Floor Gallery, Joseph Merrick Jones Hall. Open Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., the show is free and open to all.

Come see how fashion and memory are stitched into the cultural fabric of New Orleans.
