Tulane Libraries Hosts Bernice McFadden in Conversation with Jacinta Saffold
New Orleans, LA – Tulane University Libraries is pleased to present a special literary event featuring acclaimed author Bernice McFadden, in conversation with Jacinta Saffold of the Essence Book Project. This engaging discussion will explore McFadden’s journey as a writer, from her groundbreaking novel Sugar to her latest release, Firstborn Girls.
The event will take place on Friday, March 28, from 4:00 PM to 4:45 PM at Diboll Gallery – Malkin Sacks Commons. This conversation will highlight McFadden’s storytelling, themes of Black womanhood, and the impact of her work in both fiction and memoir.
McFadden is widely celebrated for her compelling narratives that center Black women's experiences and resilience. Her books have earned critical acclaim and a devoted readership, making her one of the most influential voices in contemporary literature. This conversation, moderated by Dr. Jacinta Saffold, will provide insight into McFadden’s creative process and the evolution of her work over the years.
